Quality Controls

Description Control 1 Control 2 Tip

Description

The control of a drawing is a signature or a set of signatures indicating that the drawing is OK and ready to be archived.

The real meaning of a given signature may depend on the drawing system.
For instance, for EST/LHC, the first control has to be performed by a senior Design Office engineer - different from the last person who created/modified the document - who checks the norms.
The second control has to be performed by the project engineer (e.g. a client of MME) who checks the design proposed against the functional requirements.

In order to be able to perform the Control, you must be a member of the group which is authorized to do it.
Once again, this is defined by the administrators of the corresponding drawing system.

It is possible to select the correct label type before performing the controls. The choice of the label type can be done by all users with Control 1 and/or Control 2 access rights.
The label can be changed after the archiving process too (only by users with Control 2 access rights).
  1. As Built
It describes how the object is built (which could differ from how it was designed).
  2. For Execution
It means that the drawing can be used for prototyping/manufacturing of the object.
  3. For Installation
It means that what is described by the drawing can be installed.
  4. For Production
It means that series of the described object can be manufactured.
  5. For Tender
It means that the drawing can be used for a call for tender.
  6. Obsolete
It means that the design is obsolete and should be no longer used for new designs (but it may still describe elements that are still in operation).
  7. For Information
None of the above, the drawing was not formally checked for any specific usage.

Control 1

Insert the Drawing number and select the given label from the menu, then click on OK button:

From the introduction of the New Lifecycle in 2017, if the Control 1 is performed on an assembly, it will be propagated to the entire structure (according to user's access rights).
If you are a member of the group which is authorized to perform the control 1 on the given equipment group, you are redirected to the following web page:

Control 2

From the introduction of the New Lifecycle in 2017, if the Control 2 is performed on an assembly, it will be propagated to the entire structure (according to user's access rights).
If you are a member of the group which is authorized to perform the control 2 on the given equipment group, you are redirected to the following web page:

Tip

If the user needs to massively perform Control 1 or Control 2, it is possible to use the "%" special character as shown in the following picture:

Once the search is finished, the user is able to perform Controls on the drawings that match the search criteria:
