Support and consultancy

EDMS Service offers consultancy and direct daily support. Please do not hesitate to contact us via the service email edms.support@cern.ch or through the CERN Service-Now portal if you have any questions regarding the usage of EDMS.

To help you get started in using EDMS and to learn how to benefit from the more advanced functionality, various training options are available. We offer formal training courses as well as online tutorials and customized training sessions. There is also the FAQs for information on specific features.

Since the start in 1999 more than 1200 people have followed our official courses. We are updating the content on a regular basis in order to follow the evolution of processes and tools.

The EDMS Training Program currently consists of two main courses that are organized regularly by the CERN Technical Training team. In order to learn more about the courses or enroll, please visit the sections below for the Introduction Course and the EDMS for Local Administrators Course.

Introduction Course

This is an half day course in which we cover the basics of what EDMS is, what it does and how it is used. It is organized several times per year, in English and French. If you would like to enroll for this course please click here.

EDMS for Local Administrators

This is a 1-day course for EDMS Local Administrators. A Local Administrator is a power user who is in charge of management of EDMS configuration, structures and access rights for projects and groups. If you were nominated a Local Administrator for a project or a group, or simply would like to become a power-user and supporter of Engineering best practices at CERN, enrol for this course here.

In order to benefit from this course, it is required to have a working knowledge of basic EDMS features.

Customised Training

We are flexible! If your section, group, project would like to know how to make the best of EDMS, we’re here to help. We offer customised training sessions and presentations which specifically take your needs into account. Get in touch with us on edms.support@cern.ch.

Enrollment is easy! EDMS Training is available via the CERN Central Training Catalogue:
