6.8 MANAGING DOCUMENTS IN A STRUCTURE – LINKS

Documents in the EDMS may be attached to several different nodes in different structures. The document attach and detach functionality is used to:

§  Changing the location of a document in the structure.

§  Linking documents to different nodes in the structure.

Documents must exist before they can be attached to a node; we have seen how to create a document in section 6.4; to attach a document to a node see section 6.9. Note that you must be authorized to access both the structure node and the documents concerned to be able to perform the actions mentioned above.

To use the Attach and Detach functions, select the project you want to work on and use the EDMS Navigator (Figure 12) to get to the structure node to which a document is to be attached or detached. Click on the “Advanced” button to display the “Attached documents” page, Figure 30.
